THERE’S MORE TO SPORTS EXCELLENCE
THAN PRACTICE.

Even if an athlete has 20/20 vision, there are other visual skills that are critical for elite performance. Visual information must be coordinated with motion, speed, depth perception and accuracy. Athletic Edge Academy powered by Visions uses science to help all these factors work better together so a peak level of performance can be reached.

Research shows training these skills actually elevates an athlete’s game. Just like technique, vision can be improved with therapeutic coaching and training.

If any of these statements apply, vision may be interfering with performance:

  • Eye-hand coordination seems to decrease as the game progresses

  • Visual judgement isn’t always accurate

  • Trouble paying attention; drifting in and out of “the zone”

  • Double vision, blurred vision, excessive blinking or watery eyes

  • Difficult to track a moving object

  • Squinting for far or near visual tasks

  • Turning the head to use one eye rather than both while competing

HOW ATHLETIC EDGE ACADEMY WORKS

Everything starts with an evaluation of the key components of the visual system to determine which areas need improvement. From there, our vision coach conducts a sensory profile to rank performance against others at the same level. Combining the results, we will present an Athletic Visual Profile, formulate an individualized training program, and execute the program, training the eyes and the brain to work better together to improve the ability to see, process, decide, and react.

ATHLETIC EDGE ACADEMY

“I was referred to the Athletic Edge Academy as I noticed it was hard for me to detect the spin of the volleyball in some gyms, challenging my serve receive. After training with Brenda, I found that I could make more consistent contact with the ball, and my eyes could keep up throughout the length of the match, elevating my game to the next level.”
